WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
In this role, you will be instrumental in driving our firm's growth and diversifying our portfolio into sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, and multi-family residential. You will focus on identifying and connecting with key stakeholders, including commercial real estate brokers, project managers, end-user clients, real estate developers, and building owners/managers within the Austin area. Your responsibilities will include initiating client proposals, negotiating, and closing deals or contracts, while leveraging your networking skills to build and maintain relationships. Your passion for engaging with industry professionals will play a crucial role in expanding our Corporate and Commercial design portfolio into new and exciting markets. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business Development
- Identify and build new client relationships within target industries.
- Increase the number of prospect contacts and convert them into meaningful project opportunities.
- Expand the firm's client base and project opportunities in target industries.
- Nurture existing and cultivate new client relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Create and implement growth strategies aimed at increasing financial returns and client satisfaction.
- Maintain a diverse network of industry contacts, community partners, and prospective clients.
- Generate leads through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
Sales
- Facilitate the conversion of new project opportunities into secured work.
- Oversee the end-to-end sales process and assist project teams in negotiating additional services as needed.
Customer Relationship Mangement
- Foster long-term client relationships and generate additional project opportunities.
- Track leads and manages the client database using a CRM system.
- Contribute to ensuring a successful client experience by attending key milestone presentations to help communicate and manage client expectations.
Practice Development
- Provide guidance on best practices for prospecting new business.
- Engage in strategic planning and implementation of business development and marketing programs.
- Research and develop market strategies tailored to the region and current economic and political climates.
- Participate in creating a client onboarding process.
- Stay informed about industry trends and issues affecting the firm's services.
- Attend Senior Leadership Team meetings to ensure alignment with business development goals.
- Develop and implement business development strategies and report progress during bi-weekly BD meetings.
- Collaborate and contribute to the proposal and interview process, identifying areas for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
10-15 years in business development, with a proven track record of successfully identifying, securing, and maintaining client prospects in the interior design or related fields. 7-10 years in the Austin market is highly preferred.
Skills
- Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills with a deep understanding of the commercial real estate, hospitality, healthcare, and multi-family industries.
- Strong administrative and organizational capabilities, with proficiency in CRM systems and business development tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence key stakeholders.
- Strong ties within the Austin and surrounding areas commercial and real estate market.
- Exceptional aptitude for balancing strategic vision with meticulous attention to detail.
