Individual to have experience in all aspects of design, but with focused strengths in construction documentation, budgeting, consultant coordination, and contract administration. Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on the design and construction of PDR’s corporate interior architecture projects. Individual should demonstrate problem solving abilities, foresight, and mature professional judgment in working with the entire project team, client, and contractor during the documentation and contract administration phases of a project.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise the design team on technical issues influencing design. Review the design solution(s) for code compliance.

  • Develop the construction document scope, contents, and schedule through coordination with the Project Designer and/or Project Manager.

  • Produce (with or without additional documenting team) the full architectural construction document set. Documents to be prepared based on PDR Revit/AutoCAD standards and processes. The document scope will include architectural plans, elevations, sections and details.

  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies during documentation and construction.

  • Communicate effectively and collaborate as part of a team of professionals.

  • On larger scale projects, lead a documentation team. Assign responsibilities, coordinate data and details, review documents for consistency and accuracy.

  • Mentor less experienced staff; teach detailing of complex design elements, and the importance of accuracy and thoroughness of all information on the documents.

  • Lead the Contract Administration architectural role during construction. Resolve field conditions, administer change order documentation, attend construction coordination meetings, etc. Advise the client regarding changes in construction contract scope and impact on schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.

  • Licensed Architect or working toward licensure.

  • 5-10 years of experience.

  • Revit and AutoCAD proficiency is required.

  • Experience working in corporate interiors is preferred.

  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills are essential.
