Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for continued development of the firm’s marketing strategy and overseeing the daily operations of the marketing department. Responsibilities include cross-functional project coordination, collateral development and brand auditing, market research, developing and implementing strategic marketing plans, and written communications. The Marketing Manager will work closely with Leadership, Visual Communications, HR, Accounting and various practices and project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong design and brand sensibility and a thorough understanding of the intersection of written and visual communications.  Should have experience successfully leading and developing a marketing team.


Marketing Strategy

  • Implementation and continued development of marketing strategy aligned with PDR business objectives.

  • Utilize and collaborate with internal resources to develop and deploy marketing strategy and initiatives.

  • Continue to look for efficiencies in current processes along with new and innovative marketing solutions to help with the continuous improvement of marketing strategy.

  • Identify marketing opportunities and gaps based on market conditions and activity.

Business Development

  • Assist with ongoing industry research.

  • Create unique marketing campaign opportunities.

  • Research information on potential clients and industry trends.

  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations for PDR to attend industry events in the Houston and Austin area.

  • Attend networking events, client events, professional organizations, and conferences as needed to represent PDR.

  • Promote PDR’s overall brand and culture.

Marketing Operations

  • Develop and document standard marketing processes.

  • Provide monthly marketing status report.

  • Provide regular monthly budget updates.

  • Forecast and status reporting on Marketing campaign ROI.

  • Forecast data trends with CRM data.

  • Assist in the strategy and development of client presentations and project interviews.

  • Identify network connections between marketing campaigns, business development touch points and event attendance.

  • Coordinate and implement marketing communication projects with responsibilities that include public relations support, special events management, and ensure standard guidelines.

  • Identify and recommend marketing opportunities and events including meetings, speaking engagements, seminars, trade shows and exhibits.

  • Oversee print and media campaigns around company awards/recognition.

  • Ensure corporate marketing collateral meets brand standard guidelines, including templates, tag lines, and logo usage, in coordination with Viscomm branding and graphic standards.

  • Steward the use of client brand logos.

  • Audit Website: keeping content up-to-date. Work closely with VisComm to develop and manage the website.

  • Maintain marketing editorial calendar and project work plans for all marketing related activities and identify resources needed to complete all marketing efforts in a timely manner. 

  • Stewardship of overall Marketing and NBD budget and budget strategy. 

  • Mentor and coach marketing team members to further develop core competencies.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications

  • 5+ years marketing experience in Marketing/ Business Development of professional services

  • A/E/C industry knowledge is a plus

  • Strategic Thinker with a strong sense of design

  • Effective Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment in an open office

  • Professional services marketing experience preferred

  • Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must demonstrate strong initiative

  • Organized, dependable and detail oriented

  • Graphics capability in Adobe CS/InDesign

  • Excel, Word and Outlook skills
