Data is essential – or so we’ve been told! There are a host of voices promoting the value of Big Data, and, indeed, we have increasingly
sophisticated ways to gather it and harness the increasing volume, velocity, and variability of such inputs. In our business, it’s about how
many, how few; how much, how little; how big, how small. But a successful project—one that truly meets the client’s objectives—is so much
more than a math problem. Let’s agree: The interpretation of the data is always more important than the numbers themselves.</post_content_short>

As one of the world’s top commercial real estate providers, Savills required an exceptional office space that would build strong client and
employee relationships to propel them into a successful future.

We were tasked with designing a space for Savills that welcomes both employees and clients at their office in Houston, Texas. In
the mornings, employees meet at the coffee bar, and in the evening, the bar space is used to host cocktail hours with clients. The office
design fuses lounge-like spaces with the workplace to give a hospitality hub feel. Made to be ultra-welcoming and comforting, the Savills

<post_content_short>With the widespread and increasing vaccinations and a yearning to see our colleagues again, we’re still counting the days to some kind of a return to normal. The truth is, normal may not end up being what it was.

Working from home — or more precisely, working from anywhere, is a new model. As we have learned ourselves — and as experts on workplace
design for clients around the globe — there are more questions than answers.

How many will come into the office every day?

Will it be lifeless if we’re not all there?

What if workers won’t or don’t come back?

What will make the workplace compelling enough — and “safe” enough — so our colleagues will make the trek downtown?

<post_content_short>We have long been aware that outdoor spaces provide a healing environment that humans crave, and the pandemic has emphasized this important
idea even further.

The most compelling workplaces have three common characteristics that transcend location, work style, and industry. Workplaces must create
an urban vibe, promote a collegial atmosphere, and connect workers to nature—what we have called a “Walk in the Park”. The science behind
the relative safety of outdoor spaces in relation to the spread of the coronavirus has leant even further credence to the importance of
outside spaces.

This idea of a “Walk in the Park” can be exhibited in three ways:

Landscape as a visual treat.

Functional outdoor spaces.

Seamless integration of inside and outside.

<post_content_short>The “returning to the office” discussion is an opportunity to consider the physical space and policy changes. Amy
Collins discusses 5 critical questions for law firms returning to the office in Attorney at Work.

Going back to normal for law firms may present a particular challenge, given a working landscape where the traditional office is eroding
daily.

Loeb Leadership finds that “67% of lawyers and staff want to continue to work remotely, even when it’s safe to return to offices.” At
the same time, people do miss their co-workers, the close community and the culture of the office. Depression is on the rise, and mentoring
and training programs have suffered serious setbacks, which will likely have a negative, multiyear impact on young lawyers.

A surplus of sublease options offers companies the opportunity to experiment with new office arrangements and ideas at a bargain

seating is efficient as more employees work from home. This idea also aids in reduced costs and implementing safety standards. Doug stated
