Change Management Consultant

The Change Management Consultant will play a key role in ensuring projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing client employee adoption and usage. This person will focus on the people side of change-including changes to office environments and business processes that will directly be affected. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize client adoption and usage and minimize resistance. The Change Management Consultant will act as a coach to senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfill the role of change sponsor.  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities

  • Complete change management assessments and surveys

  • Create change management strategy; perform planning analysis, programming and planning research

  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance to change

  • Consult and coach client change agents

  • Create actionable deliverables

  • Support training efforts

  • Support and engage senior leaders

  • Coach managers and supervisors

  • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities

  • Coordinate efforts with other design and consulting specialists

  • Integrate change management activities into project plan

  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness

  • Track and report issues

  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress

  • Identify how work spaces influence human behavior in the office environment

  • Day to day management of multiple projects and clients

  • Communicate effectively and collaborate as part of a team of professionals

  • Responsible for keeping all phases of the project on schedule

  • Facilitate meetings with team and client contacts

  • Establish and manage client expectations while maintaining a positive, proactive and professional demeanor

  • Develop innovative communication strategies using both traditional and digital media platforms

  • Develop communication plans for execution on projects

  • Prepare presentations and written content for print and electronic media

  • Incorporate visual elements into all aspects of work

  • Develop messaging required for various phases of a project

  • Support a project in designing, developing, reviewing, and editing of communication materials

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business or related field

  • 3-5 years of experience, experience in Change Management preferred

  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

  • Ability to work harmoniously in a collaborative team environment

  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process, experience with Prosci ADKAR Model is a plus

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

  • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal

  • Excellent active listening skills

  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Ability to manage and grow client relations

  • Comfortable presenting ideas in front of groups and individuals

  • Strong knowledge of various media channels, including social media

  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills

  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project life cycle

  • Change management certification or designation desired, Prosci Certification a plus
