Accounting Intern

The Accounting Intern is responsible for the entry of vendor and project expenses in a timely and accurate manner. This position also collaborates and assists employees and management to report actual project-to- date results. This is an extremely hands on role with a heavy data entry concentration and is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast pace in a team environment. Must be a team player.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather, sort, and enter invoices and related information for processing payable transactions.

  • Analyze and review all items submitted for accuracy of coding, proper approval, and support.

  • Update and maintain vendor database.

  • Monitor vendors for W-9 requirement.

  • Review and process expense reports for validity and accuracy.

  • Review and code client payments.

  • Partner with Project Accountants to ensure the accurate posting of expenses.

  • Assist with weekly/monthly financial reports for Management.

  • Review reports for data accuracy and identify exceptions to our standard business practices.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must meet one of the requirements listed below to be considered:

  • Must have completed their third year of an undergraduate program.

  • Must have completed their first year of a graduate program.

  • Completed undergraduate program and are entering an accredited graduate program in Fall 2019.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing BBA with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Management.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic collaborative team environment in an open office.

  • Must demonstrate analytical, communication, organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and must have attention to detail.

  • Highly organized and prepared for on-the-spot requests.

  • Strong customer relationship skills and service orientation.

  • Strong Excel and Access skills.

  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision is a plus.
